Dr. Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Innoson Group was nominated by the Executive Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Owelle (Dr.) Anayo Rochas Okorocha, as the Chancellor of Imo State University (IMSU).
The inauguration was approved by the Senate and ratified by the Council of the University and presented during the 7th Convocation ceremony held on the 18th and 19th March, 2016.
Dr. Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma, OFR, who equally accepted his nomination, was installed during the convocation ceremony. During his acceptance of his nomination, Dr. Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma, OFR, expressed his desire to bring his wealth of experience to the University. Furthermore, he also said that he will help to make the University achieve its noble vision.
His Excellency, the immediate past Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, made a surprise visit to support an illustrious son of Anambra State, in the person of Dr. Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR, who was inaugurated as the Chancellor of the Imo State University (IMSU). Also, the Nnewi Nwelu Mmadu, HRH, Igwe Kenneth Orizu, CON, and his cabinet members were also present to support their own and grace the occasion.
The Chancellor of Imo State University and the Chairman and CEO of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM), Dr. Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma, OFR, awarded a brand new Innoson IVM Fox to the overall best graduating student of Imo State University, Dr. John Ekenze. The Car was awarded on the last day of the IMSU convocation ceremony. Dr. John Ekenze became the first Official Brand Ambassador of Innoson Motors.
